In the heyday of the 20th century, Lorenzo Perosi invented a way of composing that was thoroughly original. Light years away from the avant-garde, he used the past as his model and sought to connect with it via a straight line. He was guided by faith and the desire to give life to a new corpus of sacred music that might reach the ears of all.
