The Orchestra Barocca di Milano Civica Scuola di Musica, something unique in Italy, has reached in these years a very high professional standard. The group is composed of students coming from around the world and its repertory covers music from the seventeenth-century through the Classical period. The Orchestra is directed by instructors of the School and by well-known guest conductors: in fact, Milano Civica Scuola di Musica Institute of Early Music, amongst other activities, offers to the students the possibility to perform together with selected, experienced international professionals in prestigious places in Milan. The Orchestra meets in monthly sessions of three days in Villa Simonetta, under the guidance of Paul Rizzi and Stefano Montanari, and each session culminates in a public performance. Last year the orchestra has been invited to give concerts in the Netherlands and Switzerland.
