Percussionist dedicated to the study and dissemination of New Music, he performs as a soloist for la Biennale di Venezia, Gaida di Villnius, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, L’arsenale di Treviso, L’espace sonore di Basel, Manca di Nizza, Milano Musica. He also played for the most important international festival such as Acht brücken musik für Köln, Ars Musica in Bruxelles, Biennale in Zagreb, Harvard University, Luzerne Festival, MiTo, Nuova Consonanza, Parco della Musica di Roma, Salzburg Festispiele, Teatro Colon de Buenos Aires, Traiettorie, Wien Modern. Member of the ensemble Repertorio zero, he also works with Algoritmo, Barcelona 216, Diagonal, Icarus, l'Arsenale , Klangforum Wien, mdi ensemble , musikFabrik , Neuvocalsolisten , Prometeo , with composers (G. Battistelli , E. Casale , H. Dufourt , The . Fedele, L. Francesconi , H. Goebbels, E. Gee , A. Guarnieri , H. Lachenmann , A. Lara , J. Lopez- Lopez , R. Nova , T. Riley , S. Sciarrino , G. Verrando) soloists (Mario Caroli , Nuccio D'Angelo , Paolo Fresu, Ilja Grubert , Andrea Rebaudengo ) and multimedia artists (Alien Productions, IanniX , John Malkovich, Matmos , Otolab). He has recorded for Aeon, Neos, Raitrade, Stradivarius and his other performances were broadcasted by Rai-Radio3, Croatian Radio, Austrian Radio; and in 2010 Skyclassica has made a documentary about him for the format “I Notevoli”. He plays with the main italian opera and symphonic orchestras such as: the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra Mozart (Claudio Abbado), Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Teatro la Fenice di Venezia, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Filarmonica Toscanini, Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano and Spiramirabilis. Alongside the career of performer he follow both activity as a researcher, realizing edition for percussion music per percussioni (in 2012 Casa Ricordi published his reconstruction of the unedited composition Golfi d’ombra by Fausto Romitelli), as a lecturer giving conferences (Hochschule für Musik in Basel and Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt) and masterclass. Since 2009 he is artistic director of the Festival Percussione temporanea in Reggio Emilia. In 2011 he was awarded with Repertorio zero at the Venice Biennale with the “Leone d’argento”. Ha studied percussion with Francesco Repola, Jonathan Faralli, Eric Sammut (Conservatoire Nationale de Paris - CNR), Christian Dierstein (Hochschule für Musik in Basel), chamber music with Marcus Weiss, Mike Svoboda (Hochschule für Musik in Basilea) and Musicology at the Faculty of Licterature and philosophy - D.A.M.S. – in Bologna.
