ILLUMINATIONS

Tchaikovsky discovered the light of the south in Florence, and from then on, his scores glowed with new warmth. Britten was blown-away when he first read Rimbaud’s Les Illuminations, and wound up writing one of the all-time great vocal masterpieces based on the collection.
