First Chapel Master at Milano’s Duomo, with stints from 1402 to 1407 and from 1414 to 1416, Matteo da Perugia belonged to the last generation of Ars Nova. A protégé of Pietro Filargo, Archbishop of Milano, da Perugia’s sacred and secular compositions are gathered in a codex in the Estense Library in Modena.
