The story of the airport began in the 1930’s when in 1932 the Chief Magistrate Marcello Visconti of Modrone proposed to the Minister of Aviation Italo Balbo to close the Taliedo Aerodromo and build a new airport. From different proposals prevailed the plan to realize an airport to the west of the Idroscalo, with the idea to create a link integrating the different types of aircrafts. The airport, named after Enrico Forlanini for his role in the birth of Italian aviation, was inaugurated on October 21st 1937 on the day of the 60th anniversary of Forlanini’s test flight with his unmanned helicopter. The Linate Airport (LIN) today is the second airport of Milano. It accommodates national and European flight traffic. To access the Hanger it will be necessary to present a valid identity card or a passport as well as submit to airport security control.
