Mimino

Mimino is a musical journey accompanied by video projections, featuring the music of two composing giants of our time, who were both born in the USSR – Giya Kancheli, of Georgia, and Valentin Silvestrov, of Ukraine. The realization that derives from listening to their work is of disarming simplicity. Melody, which for decades was brushed under the rug by the aesthetic dictates of Darmstadt, banned even in its most timid apparitions, is here revealed in profound and melancholy constructions, as if it were a crowbar prying open our emotions.
