Since 1976 Teatro Out Off has been synonymous with contemporary theater and dramaturgy, as well as with new developments in various artistic disciplines. Originally located at the historical venue on Viale Montesanto, Off Out was heralded for its commitment to international performances from the late 1970s to the late 1980s, when the theater moved to Via Dupré and became a theatrical training camp, cranking out scores of young actors, directors and writers. Since 2004 Teatro Out Off has been located on Via Mac Mahon, where its modern and comfortable theater location, with seating capacity of 200, is the result of research in esthetics and functionality, and a precise artistic conception of what a theatrical space should be. In 2007 Teatro Out Off received the City of Milano’s Golden Ambrogino Award for 30 years of quality in theatrical research. In 2008 the theater was recognized as an Innovative Repertory Company by the Italian Department of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
