The Ecumenical Monastic Community of Bose, founded by prior Enzo Bianchi in the alluring abandoned Serra di Ivrea district, counts some 80 men and women of different nationalities. Here, as in Jerusalem and Ostuni, members follow an innovative breed of monasticism rooted in the tradition of work, prayer and hospitality – practices that date back to the earliest such religious communities.
