Concert hall that seats 1,901, cherry paneling throughout. Inaugurated in 1994, with Claudio Abbado conducting the Berliner Philharmoniker. Designed by architect Renzo Piano, the Auditorium Giovanni Agnelli occupies sections of what was once FIAT’s famed via Nizza factory, Il Lingotto. In the process, an internal courtyard was completely transformed and building proceeded some 10 meters beneath the existing structure. Helmut Müller provided consulting on acoustics design.
