The Civic Aquarium of Milan was founded in 1906 during the occasion of the International Expo of Milan. It is the third oldest aquarium in Europe. Residing in Parco Sempione at the center of the city it has undergone an extensive 3 year renovation returning its outside spaces to their original splendor and as well as a complete restructuring of the interior facilities. The new layout of the Aquarium transmits the fascination and the elegance of the Liberty style as well as a modern vibrancy present in the most recent architectural styles. Cultural and commercial events, expositions, conferences, concerts, and galas all alternate on a replete events calendar that renders the Aquarium into a vibrant Museum and a lively local.
