The young German Bass-Baritone Andreas Wolf received his first musical education at the special school for music Wernigerode, Germany and was also a member of the renowned youth choir; Rundfunk-Jugendchor Wernigerode. In 2002 he received a scholarship at the University of Music in Detmold and started his music studies with Prof. Heiner Eckels. Andreas Wolf has been invited to several Master Class with internationally acclaimed artists such as Thomas Quasthoff, Andràs Schiff, Christoph Prégardien and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. He made his opera debut in Monteverdi’s Orfeo (Pastor & Spirito) conducted by René Jacobs. During the summer of 2008 he appeared at the Opera Festival in Aix-en-Provence as Nanni in Joseph Haydn L’Infedelta Delusa conducted by Jérémie Rhorer. Most recent appearances include the role of Falke in Die Fledermaus and Jupiter in Platée both at the Staatstheater Stuttgart; Elviro in Händel’s Serse at the Theater an der Wien conducted by Jean-Christophe Spinosi; Zoroastre in Händel’s Orlando at Scottish Opera with conductor Paul Goodwin and the same role at Komische Oper Berlin conducted by Alessandro De Marchi; Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Macerata, a tour with William Christie and Les Arts Florissants as part of Le Jardin des Voix 2009 performing in some of the world’s most prestigious concert halls; the role of Guglielmo in Così fan tutte (concert version) at the Festival of Beaune and at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées conducted by Jérémie Rohrer and his Le Cercle de l’Harmonie; Guglielmo (staged production) at the Opéra de Toulon; Littore & Tribune in Monteverdi’s L'incoronazione di Poppea at Theater an der Wien; concerts with Andreas Spering and Cappella Augustina; Curio in Händel’s Giulio Cesare at Salle Pleyel in Paris alongside Cecilia Bartoli; a CD recording with Harmonia Mundi alongside Andreas Scholl; Littore & Tribune in L'incoronazione di Poppea at Teatro Real in Madrid with William Christie and with the same conductor and Les Arts Florissants he performed the role of Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas in New York and Moscow; Bach’s B Minor Mass with Jordi Savall in Madrid and Barcelona; a tour with Concerto Köln and Marcus Creed performing in Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium and at the Festival de Beaune he sang the role of Clito in Händel’s Alessandro nell'Indie with conductor Eduardo López Banzo. His future engagements include Guglielmo in Così fan tutte at Teatro Real in Madrid and La Monnaie in Brussels in a new co-production staged by Michael Haneke, Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro at Teatro Real, the roles of Man/Ephraimite in a concert-performance of Moses un Aron with the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg under the baton of Sylvain Cambreling at Teatro Real Madrid and the Philharmonie in Berlin, Händel’s Alexander’s Feast and L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato with the Kölner Kammerchor, Bach’s Matthäus-Passion with the Nederlandse Bachvereniging conducted by Peter Dijkstra and Bach’s Weihnachtsoratorium with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Raphaël Pichon. Andreas Wolf’s vast oratorio repertoire includes all major works by J.S. Bach, Händel, Mozart and Beethoven. He has already appeared in prestigious concert venues such as Konzerthaus Berlin, the Philharmonie in Essen, Kölner Philharmonie, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Cathedral in St Gallen and the newly built Frauenkirche in Dresden.
