Silvia Colombini is born in Rome in a famous musicians family who are in the Italian Opera history: the Composer Giancarlo Colombini and singers as “Puccini Baritone” Edoardo Camera, Giuseppe Bellantoni and Roberto Stagno. After her Diploma in Violin and in Opera singing, under suggestion of Edita Gruberova, she studied in Wien with the Gruberova’s teacher Ruthilde Boesch; she won three International Contests. In 1999 she had her debut in Wien in the role of Adele in J.Strauß ”Die Fledermaus’. Until today she sang in more than 400 performances in the most important Italian and International Theatres, playing the main roles of her repertoire of Light Lyric Coloratura Soprano, as in the Operas: La Sonnambula (Bellini Theatre in Catania) Elisir d’amore (Köln Opera, New Israeli Opera) Un ballo in Maschera (Verona’s Arena) Don Pasquale, Rigoletto, Bohème, in some new productions; Lakmé (Massimo Theatre in Palermo). According to the critics, she is an exceptionally clever Mozart’s roles interpreter: Blonde, Die Entführung aus dem Serail (Dresden Semperoper Theatre, Teatro Regio in Turin, Petruzzelli Foundation in Bari) Königin der Nacht, Die Zauberflöte (Dresden Semperoper Theatre, Berlin Staatsoper, Köln, Frankfurt, Bonn Opera Theatres) Despina, Così fan tutte (São Carlos Theatre in Lisbon, Mozart Festival in La Coruña) Elisa, Re Pastore (Royal Theatre de La Monnaie in Brussels). The Salzburg Festival invited her for the opera ‘Die Ägyptische Helena’; then she sang in ‘Die Frau ohne Schatten’ for the Opening evening of 73rd Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Festival, conducted by Zubin Mehta. She performed one of the most difficult role for Soprano ever written: “Lear” at the Teatro Regio in Turin (director: Luca Ronconi) In several concerts she sang for Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, Gasteig Hall, Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Sala Nervi in the Vatican (for the Pope John Paul II), Quirinale of Rome at the presence of the past Italian Republic President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. Among the Conductors and the Directors she worked with: M. Horvat, Z. Mehta, F. Luisi, Z. Pesko, S. Ranzani, D. Renzetti, M. Viotti, O. Dantone, T. Netopil, O. Meir Wellber; L. Ronconi, M. Martone, C. Lievi, D. Livermoore, B. de Tommasi, F. Crivelli, J. Schaaf, W. Decker, E. Gramss. She created an innovative singing method called ‘Ars-C Overcoming Resistance’ presented in Shanghai Tonji University in 2011. This is the first time she sings in Milan.
