Taking his cue from the soundtracks of sci-fi films, Connesson takes our ears on a humorous outer-space journey. Duparc, on the other hand, dedicates a mini symphonic poem to the stars. And Schubert – who in 1961 had an asteroid from the inner regions of the asteroid belt named after him – pauses on the threshold of infinity. Perhaps, in the end, Mozart’s Third Concerto, with its dazzling violin part, is the brightest star of all.
