The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace
Composed in 1999 by the Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace is a mass dedicated to the victims of the Kosovo War, combining sacred and secular elements as it mixes musical styles and texts from diverse religious cultures and traditions. Following the theme of the medieval piece L’homme armé, this mass represents one of the most significant contemporary compositions focused on the message of hope and reconciliation.
