Terzo appuntamento Educational: Musica e Architettura
Milano
/ 16 June 2010
After the interest generated by the two previous meetings, returns for the third time the cycle “Music that meets…”, part of the MITOeducational project. The appointment of Wednesday, June 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. at Bocconi University in via Roentgen 1 and in live-streaming on this site, concerns the intrinsic similarity between the musical and architectural composition, and it is the last Educational event in June in Milan.
The combination “Music and Architecture”, the event’s title, which has as exceptional guest the architect Stefano Boeri, belongs to the cultural world for ages. This can be seen also in the common lexicon which assimilate the two arts: words such as rhythm, harmony and proportion make visible the strong bond that links the construction of a building to the composition of a melody. Without forgetting the architectural spaces for music performance and listening, whose origins can be found in the ancient Greek theater.
During the meeting, Sentieri selvaggi ensemble will perform a series of pieces influenced by architectural rules, from the figure of the Magic Square to the optical illusions of the perspective’s perceptions.
The program is the following:
Giovanni Mancuso L'isola dei quadrati magici
Carlo Boccadoro Dark was the night
Steve Reich Cello Counterpoint
Filippo Del Corno Dogma#3
