Per Luciano Berio

Milano
/ 27 August 2013
Luciano Berio dreamed to be a pianist, but a little accident to his hand during the Second World War prevented him from becoming a concert performer. So, fortunally for us, he became a composer. Berio wasn't just a composer: he made research about music and sperimented new musical ways, "playing" with different and sometimes new genre - like electronic, that he was one of the first to experiment - and poetry, theatre, anthropology, linguistics, architecture, with the aim to balance tradition and new way to communicate music. In the 10th anniversary of his death MITO SettembreMusica celebrates the artist on september 16th with two special events. In conjunction with Intesa San Paolo and Centro Studi Luciano Berio, MITO presents C'è musica e musica, a Feltrinelli edition DVD that collect episodes from the highly innovative RAI tv series curated by Berio in 1972. Verdi" play 34 Duetti per due violini, composed by Berio between 1979 and 1983 as portraits of his friends and colleagues. Berio composed duets for violin students, with a pedagogic approach that distinguished a huge part of his work. Click here for further information. Join the celebration with us!
