The ceremony of whirling dervishes is the Ottoman-Turkish outcome of a spiritual practice called samâ', born in the IX Century among the Sufi circles of the Iranian area. In the exhibition the singing of mystic verses is blended with music, expressed according to the forms of Ottoman music of art, and with the movements of the dervishes who gyrate on their themselves.
