Il Teatro della Divina Provvidenza fu fatto costruire da don Michele Plassa (1880-1953) insieme all'adiacente ed omonima chiesa nel 1925. Il complesso architettonico fu ricostruito dopo aver subito, nel 1942, due pesanti bombardamenti.
