Inaugurated in 1855, a survivor of two fires and WWII bombing, today’s Teatro Alfieri is still home to great performances thanks to the efforts of Giuseppe Erba. This theater has hosted the likes of Emma Gramatica, Tofano and Cervi, and Josephine Baker, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis. Here Gassman and Randone exchanged roles as Jago and Otello. Then there was the golden era of Macario’s review, and Rascel, Vinello and Mondaini, Dorelli, Bramieri and Garinei & Giovannini.
