Chiara Opalio

Born in 1990 in Vittorio Veneto, Chiara began to play piano at the age of 3, studying with Giuliab Linussio at the Suzuki school of Trieste and with Giorgio Lovato. In 2006 she graduated with honours and special mention at the G. Tartini Conservatoire of Trieste, while studying also violin for 6 years. Then she studied at the Imola International Academy “Incontri col maestro” with Piero Rattalino, Gianluca Cascioli, Jin Ju, Anna Kravtchenko ed il Trio Altenberg Wien, and she took part in specialization corse with Aldo Ciccolini, Andrea Lucchesini, Joaquin Soriano, Yang Jun, Marcello Abbado and Oleg Marshev. Chiara won many prizes in national and international competitions, among which the Special Mention obtained when she was 9 at the “International Carl Czerny Competition” in Prague, the Third Prize at the “International Competition in Senigallia” when she was 11 and the Third Prize and the Special Prize and the “International Luciano Gante Competition” in Pordenone in 2008; in 2006 she won the First Prize at “Concorso Pianistico Internazionale Stefano Marizza” of Trieste (chairman of the Jury Maestro Dario De Rosa). Chiara, who played her first recital when she was 4 and performed with the orchestra for the first time at the age of 11, played still very young for many prestigious concert series, like the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, “Fazioli Concert Hall”, Teatro Manzoni in Milano, "Sala Puccini" in Conservatorio di Milano, Teatro Comunale in Vicenza, “Sala dei Giganti” in Padova. She played recitals in Germany, Switzerland, France, Croatia, Slovenia, and Monaco and performed at the age of 15 as soloist with the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali of Milano in Teatro Dal Verme. During last season Chiara played recitals for the MITO SettembreMusica Festival in Milano and Torino, Amici della Musica di Verona and Amici della Musica di Vicenza, “Sala Maffeiana” in Verona and the Auditorium Fondazione Cariplo in Milano during a Chopin Marathon for the Orchestra Verdi’s season. In 2010 she also performed Beethoven 3rd Concerto op. 37 in Teatro Comunale of Treviso and Schumann Concerto op. 54 with Haydn Orchester of Bolzano and Trento conducted by Daniel Beyer. Chiara’s interest for chamber music has brought her to explore many different formations, playing in duo with violin, founding in 2009 the Trio of the Imola International Academy, and since 2010 playing in duo with cellist Giovanni Gnocchi. In 2007 she has been invited to “Semaines Musicales” di Crans Montana in France, playing chamber music with E. Crambes, M. Michalakakos e H. Demarquette. During 2011 she took part at the “International Musicians Seminars” of Prussia Cove, UK, where she studied with Andràs Schiff, Thomas Adès, David Waterman and Erich Höbarth.
