Composer, guitar player and multimedia artist Yuval Avital, born in Jerusalem, 1977, living in in Milan, Italy. Graduated in the Jerusalem music Academy, later studying in the Angelo Gilardino soloists class, (president of the Andreas Segovia foundation), and finaly frequented the new technologies department of the G. Verdi Milan conservatory. Avital’s works spread from huge sonic events for numerous performers to demanding orchestral and chamber works; from Icon/sonic operas which include classical performers, multi-media together with traditional carriers of ancient cultures, to highly technological projects, involving scientists, artificial intelligence and live sonic elaborations, often collaborating with leading music institutes, such as the Milan Conservatory new technologies department and Milan's University's LEAV (Laboratory of Ethnomusicology & Visual Anthropology). Among his works outstand KARAGATAN for 100 traditional gong & bamboo musicians and 2 conductors (Philippines 2013), OTOT icon/sonic symphony (opening of the symphonic season of Theater of Como, Italy) UNFOLDING SPACE, created in collaboration with NASA & ESA scientists (Italy 2012), GARON for 45 tubas, 6 percussions, 3 conductors, choir & live electronics (closing event of Dirty Corner by Anish Kapoor, Milan, Italy 2012), 4 operas commissioned by Italy’s major festivals: REC (KOLOT, Reggio Emilia, 2008), MiTo SettembreMusica (SAMARITANI, Milan, 2010) , RomaEuropa Festival (LEILIT, Rome, 2011),and Festival Aperto (Noise for Syd, Reggio Emilia, 2013) as well as chamber music and solo compositions played by leading soloists and ensembles. Yuval Avital is also an acclaimed classical and electric guitar player, that has performed worldwide in venues such as Centre Pompidou in Paris, Palazzo Reale and Teatro Nuovo in Milano, Quinta da Regaleira Palace in Portugal, National Conservatory of China in Beijing. His works and concerts have been broadcast by SKY CLASSICA (a network that has produced a documentary on Avital), CCTV China, Radio 3 Suite, Kol Ha Musica (Israel), WQXR & Classical Guitar live (United States) and many other television and radio channels.
