Paolo Alderighi

Born November 5th, 1980 in Milan. Degree in Piano from G.Verdi Conservatory of Milan in 2000, degree in Economics for Arts, Culture and Media from Bocconi University in 2005. Since 1996 he performed in Italy, USA, Japan, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, France, Ireland, Hungary, Luxembourg, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, United Kindom, Malta, Morocco. He recorded a part of the soundtrack of the documentary of Ermanno Olmi regarding the artist Jannis Kounellis. He collaborated on the production of various cultural events. He reached the second position in the “Top Jazz 2007” referendum organized by the jazz magazine “Musica Jazz” as “Best New Talent” and first in the popular referendum “Italian Jazz Awards 2007” as “Brand New Jazz Act”. He recorded his third piano solo album entitled “A Touch of Swing” for the Swiss label Jazz Connaisseur and joined many other recording sessions. He performed or recorded with musicians well known in the jazz scene such as Howard Alden, John Allred, Joe Ascione, Carlo Bagnoli, Gianni Cazzola, Franco Cerri, Evan Christopher, Bruno De Filippi, Tullio De Piscopo, Nicki Parrott, Lino Patruno, Ken Peplowski, Bucky Pizzarelli, Ed Polcer, Valery Ponomarev, Randy Reinhart. Since 2007 he has been teaching musical culture (Arts and Culture I) at Bocconi University at the Master of Science in Economics and Management in Arts, Culture, Media and Entertainment. He received a special prize from the Jury at the “National Prize of the Arts 2007” organized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, in the “Jazz” category.
