This year Glenn Gould would have turned 100. Young Icelandic pianist Ólafsson dedicates a concert to the Canadian master inspired by The Idea of North, the radio broadcast in which Gould explored the solitude of remote regions in northern Canada. Prior to the performance and during intermission, audio recordings featuring Gould’s voice will be played, a tribute to his ideas about music and the nature of the interpreter.
