The Plague in Milan
When the black plague hit Milano in 1576, Archbishop Carlo Borromeo was the only leading figure who did not leave the city. He is famed for having personally cared for the afflicted. More than a century later, French baroque composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier was inspired by this story. Enjoy the sumptuousness of the choir and orchestra.
