Sergio Liberovici (1930-1991), ethnomusicologist, music education expert and composer from Torino. In 1958 along with Emilio Jona he helped found Cantacronache, the movement that marked the rise of the singer-songwriter tradition in Italy. He conducted years’ worth of research in rural and worker speech patterns, with a host of publications and recordings.
