An ancient music vocal ensemble, a contemporary music instrumental ensemble, a Carnatic vocalist. This ambitious project brings together medieval music for female voices and a new work for voice, ensemble and electronics, inspired by the Mahabharata. The Book of Women explores the theme of women’s power during the gothic period of the late Middle Ages. The aim is to evoke the greatness of the Virgin Mary and the courage of women.
