An evening that places three eras in dialogue. Skalkottas, a pupil of Schönberg, opens and returned to Greece silently composing over 170 works, including the Greek Dances, in which he interweaves folklore and modernity. The evening continues with Šostakovič, with Quartet No. 10 in Rudolf Barshai's orchestral transcription, and closes with Haydn's Symphony La Reine.
