Franca Masu, the “Catalan voice of Sardinia”, jazzes up the traditional songs of Alghero, while remaining true to the local musical heritage. The music of Alghero, a city on Sardinia’s west coast where some 40 per cent of the inhabitants speak a variation of Catalan, is different from other Sardinian music, but at the same time testimony to sounds and cultures quite familiar to us.
