Emanuele Carlo Vianelli

Born in Milan, Emanuele Carlo Vianelli began his musical studies with his father Lavinio. Owing to this, he graduated in Organ and Organ Composition to the Milan Civic School of Music and the “L.Campiani” Conservatory in Mantua under the guide of M.o Enzo Corti. He also studied piano under the guide of Prof. Romana Grego, and Organ Improvvisation with M.o Lionell Rogg to the Geneve Conservatory. He attended specialization courses with H.Vogel, L.Rogg, M.Radulescu and C.Stella, going deep into Bach’s works with W.Krumbach, and romantic and contemporary literature with A. Sacchetti. Prize-winner in the national organ competitions at Cagliari (1986) and Noale (1987/88), he has performed concerts as organ soloist as well as accompanist (piano and harpsichord) and conductor of various vocal and instrumental ensembles, in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and France. He recorded for Carrara and Motette, working either as composer and essayist. His intense concert activity is combined with the teaching profession. Once professor at the Milan Civic school of Music and the “Pontificio Istituto Ambrosiano di Musica Sacra”, Emanuele Carlo Vianelli now teaches Organ and and Musical Theory at the Varese Civic School of Music. He is also collaborator to the Schola Cantorum of the Milan Cathedral. Since January 2005, Emanuele Carlo Vianelli has been appointed titular organist of the Milan Cathedral.
