In 1986 he graduated with top marks and received the "Cuneo" prize for the best diploma at the Turin Conservatory, where he studied with Enzo Ferraris. Right after the diploma, he won the 1st prize at the “City of Genova” competition. He then studied for three years with Ludwig Streicher at the Musik-Hochschule in Vienna, with the financial support of the Musical Association De Sono scholarship awards. As principal double bass he has collaborated with numerous orchestras, playing under the conduction of Claudio Abbado, Zubin Mehta, Lorin Maazel, Daniel Harding, Pierre Boulez and Daniele Gatti. He has participated in numerous concerts for important festivals and institutions playing in the most prestigious concert hall of the world; he has effected besides numerous recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Emi, Virgin e Radio Classique, playing famous "a solo". In 2006, Claudio Abbado invited him to join the Lucerne Festival Orchestra with whom he performed in these years in Lucerne and in numerous tour in London, New York, Beijing, Paris, Madrid, Baden Baden and recording numerous dvd. In addition to the orchestral experience, he is extremely active in chamber music and he played with the soloist of Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, RAI National Symphony Orchestra, Teatro alla Scala, with the chamber orchestra I Solisti di Pavia, Orchestra da camera di Mantova, he has also held concerts with Shmuel Ashkenasi, Bruno Canino, Raphael Wallfish and soloist from Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2004 he belongs to the chamber orchestra "Archi" of Turin and he is tutor of the correlated Academy of orchestral formation. He is doublebass Professor at the Conservatorio of music "G. F. Ghedini" of Cuneo and he collaborates with the University of Georgia (USA), where he holds some masterclasses.
