Adaptation is the favorable reaction by a subject exposed to changes in ecological factors. It’s one of the ways the evolution of life works. For a brass quintet, adaptation is essential. Since the amount of original material is by no means staggering, repertoires must be created through the adaptation of other scores. That way the choices are potentially infinite. And in this case, brightly colored as well.
