Wagner married Cosima, the daughter of Liszt. Besides giving him his daughter, Liszt also provided Wagner with ideas and stimuli, without which, his son-in-law’s music would have been very different. It is curious how Liszt’s reach then extends to his grandson Siegfried, to the son of Richard Wagner.
