SOLO VIOLINS

We usually listen to violins played along with other instruments: in orchestras, chamber ensembles, and duos with pianos. But Telemann gives us violins with no other musical accompaniment, and in so doing casts a special light on his chosen instruments – a light that would be handed down from fathers to sons, across the generations all the way to the present.
