An exploration that follows the path of history. Seventeenth-century suites for lute flow almost seamlessly into the Bach suite, while the music of 18th-century Scottish composer James Oswald paves the way for a piece by Julia Wolfe, which was originally composed for nine bagpipes, presented here with a transcription for the electric guitar.
