A GONDOLA RIDE ON THE SEINE
In 1726 Vivaldi wrote a sparkling cantata dedicated to the magnificence of the Bourbon dynasty. King Louis XV was celebrated, as was the Seine and its shores with music that spoke of the Ville Lumière, but exploded with the ideas, virtuosity and inventions typical of Venetian music of those years.
