Worlds
Beethoven wrote music that was a representation of itself, and painstakingly created the architecture of its form. Berlioz, on the other hand, sought to show that an orchestra is able to tell a story – indeed, his writing provides insight into his tormented romance. Two different visions of music, two different worlds juxtaposed in this performance.
