Alexander Liebreich

Since Alexander Liebreich has been nominated art director and head of the Münchener Kammerorchester in 2006, the orchestra has received several prices for their unique music and innovative program. Widely appreciated in Monaco, Europe and overseas it has performed with Liebreich in the most famous international concerts. Their first CD, with pieces by Joseph Haydn and Isang Yun was published in 2008. After having won the Kirill Kondrašin Conducting Competition in 1996 with a jury composed by Sir Edward Downes, Peter Eötvös and Alexander Liebreich he was nominated assistant of Edo de Waart at the Filharmonisch Orkest Radio in Holland. He worked together with prestigious orchestra such as la Concertgebouw Orchestra, l’Orchestre National de Belgique, la BBC Symphony Orchestra, la Auckland Philharmonia, la Radio Symphony Orchestra Berlin and i Münchner Philharmoniker, Starting from 2012/2013, Alexander Liebreich was nominated art director and head of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Polish Radio of Katowice, one of the most important polish orchestras. Since 2002 Liebreich has been repeatedly involved with North Korea as a professor of the Goethe Institute and the DAAD, and with the Münchener Kammerorchester in autumn 2012. Starting from 2011 he has been the first director of Tongyeong International Music Festival in South Korea, one of Asia’s’ most famous festivals.
