Andrea Dulbecco

Andrea Dulbecco was awarded a first class degree in percussion instruments from Milan’s Conservatory G. Verdi, mentored by Franco Campioni. There he also studied composition and graduated in piano. He also specialized in vibraphone with David Friedman. As a soloist he has played with Milan’s Orchestra Angelicum, the Graz Conservatory Orchestra, Milan’s RAI, San Remo’s Symphony Orchestra and the Italian String Orchestra. As a chamber musician he has performed for the most prestigious Italian institutions, including the Società del Quartetto and Milan’s Società dei Concerti, Turin’s Unione Musicale, Santa Cecilia Academy, Perugia’s Amici della Musica, Chigiana Academy, Teatro Alla Scala, and has collaborated with renowned artists such as A. Ugorski, M. Brunello, A. Lucchesini, Markus Stockhausen, P. De Maria, E. Fisk and G. Carmignola, E. Morricone. He is a permanent member of the ensemble Sentieri selvaggi, conducted by the composer Carlo Boccadoro who has also dedicated some of his music pieces to him. Beside his career in classical music he is also very active as a jazz vibraphonist, playing and recording with a number of internationally recognized artists such as P. Fresu, E. Rava, D. Moroni, F. Dicastri, M. Negri, G. Gaslini, F. Ambrosetti, L. Schneider, D. Liebman, A. Nussbaum, Tom Harrell, P. Favre, D. Friedman, P. McCandless, B. Elgart, and performing at important festivals, including Umbria Jazz and Roccella Jonica. He has toured in the United States, Mexico, Africa and the Far East. He has made a number of records for the labels Splash and Egea and he recently recorded, in a duo with Luca Gusella, for the American label Obliqsound. He was recently a guest at Piero Angela’s TV show Super Quark. He teaches percussion instruments at Milan’s Conservatory G. Verdi and vibraphone and improvisation at the Soncino Percussion Academy.
