The great closing party of MITO 5th edition is coming! On Thursday September 22nd MITO SettembreMusica says goodbye to the next year’s edition with a dancing evening at Hangar Bicocca in Milan starting from 10 p.m. on the traces of New Orleans sounds, Cuban Carnival, of afro-brazilian music, from the ancient and modern spirit of Kinshasa till the art ensemble of Chicago. A journey into the sounds and visions to find out the rhythms and African culture inspired by the street Carnival of Haiti, with contributions from the movie The Living Gods of Haiti by Maya Deren and from the photographic volume Kanaval published by Soul Jazz Publishing, with pictures of Leah Gordon. The last night with MITO will be animated by dj sets of Alexander Barck from Jazzanova and J-Wow from Buraka Som Sistema, winners of an MTV Europe Music Award, with vanguard sounds able to put in a contemporary way the break beat of African origin. Then there will be the dubstep sound of Voodoo live set y Shackleton. Ten performers will kick up in Hangar Bicocca involving the audience in the dances of Haitian Carnival.
