Mattia Rondelli is an Italian conductor who has already appeared on the international scene. His engagements have brought him to some of the most important venues in Italy, Switzerland, UK, Russia, USA, and China. His versatility as a conductor has led to performances of works from both the operatic and orchestral repertoire, wildly ranging from early music to the music of today. These last years Mr. Rondelli obtained sensational achievements especially on the most important Russian institutions due to his meeting and collaboration with Valery Gergiev. Mr. Rondelli was invited to conduct a concert featurin Barbara Frittoli along with the worldly renown Orchestra, Choir and soloists of Mariinsky Theatre at White Nights Festival. That first occasion represented the modern premiere of some sacral pages by Giuseppe Sarti, an Italian composer who either “inspired” Mozart and, having spent almost twenty years at Catherine II court, is considered one of the main fathers of the Russian musical tradition. The live recording of the concert has been published and internationally released by Sony Classical. In Italy, Mr Rondelli is a regular guest conductor at MITO SettembreMusica Festival, the second larest Festival in Europe after BBC Proms. In the same year he gained outstanding appreciation in Lima, Peru, for his Mahler 6 rendition. The 2008-09 season was very relevant for Mr. Rondelli: he debuted with some remarkable institutions like St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Parma Teatro Regio Symphony Orchestra, and at the MITO Festival, but his performance at Bologna Festival of Boccherini’s Stabat Mater with I Virtuosi del Teatro alla Scala and world renown soprano Barbara Frittoli garnered much acclaim, and the live recording of the concert represented his first CD released by SONY Classical and enthusiastically reviewed by international press. In June 2009 Mr. Rondelli was invited at Ravenna Festival to conduct the concert celebrating Haydn’s death bicentennial performing Haydn’s Creation. In Italy, Mr. Rondelli has led as guest conductor concerts also with Arturo Toscanini Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, La Fenice Orchestra, Marche Philharmonic Orchestra, I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano, Turin Philharmonic Orchestra, Rome Youth Orchestra, and Orchestra Cantelli of Milan. A. Ciampi during his official visit to China where Rondelli gave “an impressive rendition of some familiar Italian operatic works.” After his piano studies, Mr. Rondelli earned degrees in both orchestral conducting and music composition from the Milan Conservatory of Music.
