Analytical precision and passion are the distinctive characteristics of the Venetian ensemble, inherited quality of two basic schools of quartet interpretation: the "Quartetto Italiano" under the guidance of Maestro Piero Farulli and the Mid-European School of "Vegh Quartet", through several meetings with Sandor Vegh and Paul Szabo. In addition to annual appearances throughout Italy, the Quartetto di Venezia has toured extensively in Europe and the United States, and performed in U.S.A. - New York - United Nations Palace, Los Angeles UCLA & Getty Museum, Washington National Gallery, San Francisco, Seattle - Meany Hall, Philadelphia;CANADA: Toronto, Vancouver; EUROPE: Paris - Unesco Palace, Bad Kissingen - Kissinger Sommer, Wurzburg Mozart Festival, Munchen - Herkulessaal, Barcelona & Valencia - Palau de la Musica, Madrid – Real Academia de Bellas Artes, Warsaw - European College, Copenhagen-Tivoli Hall; and: Beirut - Al Bustan Festival, Tokio - New Otani Hall, Taipei-National Concert Hall, Seoul Ho-Am Art Hall. They had the honour of playing for His Holiness Pope John Paul II and the President of Republic of Italy. The repertoire of the Quartet of Venice is extremely rich and includes, apart from the most well-known ones, works rarely performed works like the quartets of G.F. Malipiero ("Italian Critics Award" as the best chamber recording). The vast disc production includes 19 CDs for Dynamic, Fonit Cetra, Unicef, Aura, Koch. The Quartetto’s most recent release is a three-CD collection of Luigi Cherubini’s six quartets for DECCA. Radio and television: RAI & RAI International, Bayerischer Rundfunk, New York Times (WQXR), ORF1, DRS2 Schweizer, Suisse Romande, Radio Clasica Espanola, South Korean MBC. Pushed by the pleasure of playing together, the ensemble has collaborated with world artists of worldwide fame as Bruno Giuranna, "Borodin Quartet", "Prazak Quartet”, Piero Farulli, Paul Szabo, Oscar Ghiglia, Danilo Rossi, Dieter Flury (1 Vienna Philharmonic flute), Pietro De Maria, Domenico Nordio, Alberto Nose. The first violin plays a Santo Serafino 1740, property of “Pro Canale Foundation-Onlus” of Milan. For the twenty-fifth anniversary season: the "Quartetto di Venezia" received an official recognition from the President of the Republic of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano.
