SCANDINAVIAN FAMILIES
While ranging from Bach to Piazzolla, this superstar of the recorder introduces two imaginary families. One is from Norway, with her tribute to Lalo and the music of Grieg, whom she envisions as brothers. The other family is Danish, with “Grandfather” Nielsen’s enticing late Romanticism, and works by two composers – one of whom hails from the Faroe Islands – created expressly for Ms. Petri.
