Brilliant jazz guitarist and composer Pierre Dørge’s curiosity led him to discover the allure of European, Asian and African elements in Afro-American musical traditions. The New Jungle Orchestra lets loose allnew contaminations as the Ellington style blends with traffic noise and an asphalt jungle transforms into jungle animal sounds. Moments of strict adherence to original composition alternate with improvisation over a soundscape that may be sonorous, expressive and even chaotic. There’s sadness and joy, comedy and grave passion.
