Composers of early film soundtracks had Richard Strauss in their ears, and the golden age of Hollywood unwittingly became the backdrop for a continuation of his style. Today, Rolf Martinsson’s scores seem to have brought that process full circle, with his concert pieces that smack of music for cinema.
