The competition organized by Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano, Casa Ricordi and MITO SettembreMusica Festival has finally a winner! The 30 years old Leonardo Schiavo from Montecchio Maggiore (VI) won the prize with a Magnificat for orchestra, soloists and chorus, competing with the motto “Lucexcolor”. The Grand Jury, officiated by Luis de Pablo and composed by Enzo Restagno, George Benjamin, Azio Corghi, Fabio Vacchi and Don Claudio Burgio, Duomo's Cappella Musicale director, unanimously elected Leonardo Schiavo's score between more than 60 candidated scores, coming from more than 10 countries. The young composer's piece gained a prize money, the score publication with Casa Ricordi and the chance to be executed for the first time in the world for 18th september MITO SettembreMusica concert in Milan's Duomo, with Orchestra e il Coro Sinfonico di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, directed by Ruben Jais.
