Carla Moreni: “Ascolto ma non me ne intendo”

Milano
/ 1 July 2009
The Sala Assemblee Intesa Sanpaolo in Piazza Belgioioso 1, on Thursday, July 2nd at 6 p.m., will host the second “Music Appreciation” seminar as part of the initiative “MITO educational”. Musicologist and musical critic for Il Sole 24 ORE Carla Moreni will present “Ascolto ma non mi intendo: alfabeto minimo per raccontare la musica”. Instead of being just an explanation of musical terminology the seminar will be an interactive and amusing “game” involving the audience. Rhythm, timing, and colors are three of the principle concepts that determine a musical piece: Understanding and the capacity to recognize these elements that characterize a composition is also decisive in the pleasure of listening. The public is called to actively participate, and through guided listening of brief musical examples they can measure their understanding and augment their capacity to catch the hidden drama that is the basis of the most beautiful – seemingly inscrutable – pages in the history of music. Moderated by Francesca Colombo This seminar is free to the public however admission will be closed once the venue reaches capacity. This seminar will be available for viewing on this website July 3rd 6:00 p.m. For more information concerning Sala Assemblee Intesa Sanpaolo click here The next Milano Music Appreciation seminar is: September 3rd, 6 p.m. Milano Chamber of Commerce Palazzo Turati Giovanni Bietti Come si ascolta l’orchestra For more information concerning “MITO educationalclick here.
