Milano’s Diocesan Museum is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the artistic heritage of the Ambrosian diocese. The permanent collection, with over 600 works from the 9th to the 20th centuries, is living testimony to Ambrosian artistic production and the prestigious collections of the archbishops of Milano (Monti, Visconti, Erba Odescalchi, Pozzobonelli). There’s also the Crespi Collection, a group of gold-based paintings from the 14th and 15th centuries, and the Marcenaro Collection, a group of sculptures from the 14th to the 17th centuries. The museum also contains a section featuring liturgical objects.
