Dean Wareham and Britta Phillips are ex-members of Luna. Created by Wareham in 1992, Luna released seven studio albums with their last performances on stage taking place in February of 2005. A "Best of" disc was recently released by Rhino and Beggers Banquet.
Before Luna Dean was part of the group Galaxie 500, whose discs are available under the label Rykodisc. Britta joined Luna in 1999 after having played in diverse bands (Belltower, Ultrababyfat, and Ben Lee) as well as performing for the film Satisfaction (with Julia Roberts, Justine Bateman, Liam Neeson, and Steve Cropper). In 2003 Dean and Britta released L'Avventura, a cover album of duets produced by Tony Visconti (Bowie, T. Rex). Following came an EP of remixes by Sonic Boom titled Sonic Souvenirs. In October of 2006 the EP of D&B Words You Used To Say was realeased and in February 2007 the album Back Numbers, again produced by Visconti for the label Zoe/Rounder Records. In 2004 they composed the score for The Squid and the Whale by Noah Baumbach.
