Here are the first anticipations on an edition full of surprises, which will open on September 3 in Milano with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Chailly, and on September 4 in Torino featuring the Orchestre de Paris conducted by Lorin Maazel. Many great events will be devoted to the compositions of Schumann and Chopin, celebrating the 200th anniversary of their births, and everybody’s attention will be focused on the multifaceted sounds of Turkey, which will be the queen of a festival within the festival, spanning the many sounds of Istanbul and the most seductive scenes from the Bosphorus. The music of Bach and Josquin Des Près will resound within the naves of the great basilicas of San Marco and Sant’Ambrogio in Milano, and many other extraordinary concerts will enchant the lovers of sacred music.
